Cecchetti Ballet

Classical Ballet is a traditional and foundational style of dance which focuses on coordination, poise, confidence, rhythmical sense and musicality  It can be expressive and lyrical but also powerful and dynamic. At Goulburn Valley Academy of Ballet our teachers have extensive dance training as both dancers and teachers, through years of study and exams to ensure they have a  deep knowledge of the details of ballet technique and how to teach that technique a safe supportive way.

At Goulburn Valley Academy of Ballet, we teach the syllabus known as the ‘Cecchetti Method’. This syllabus is taught throughout the world and has been refined and perfected through practice since 1918. The syllabus is taught in a series of grades, each grade building on the skills learnt in the previous level so that students are continually challenged and able to improve. We enjoy watching a student’s talents flourish from their beginnings in Pre-Primary to the highly skilled Advanced levels.
