Contemporary/Lyrical

Contemporary dance has influences from all other styles of dance and is highly varied, yet has a few key elements which characterise it as a style. Contemporary can be used to explore more abstract concepts and ideas but can also be used to convey narrative and emotion. Contemporary classes also involve Lyrical style which is very fluid, matching the tone, lyrics and emotion of a piece of music.

Contemporary classes are offered to intermediate students and above.
